Hierarchical Passenger Hub Location Problem in a Megaregion Area Considering Service Availability

The rapid growth of the intercity travel demand has resulted in enormous pressure on passenger transportation network a megaregion area. Optimally locating hubs and allocating demands to influence effectiveness network. This study develops hierarchical hub location model considering service availability hubs. A mixed integer linear programming formulation was developed minimize total cost operation for multiple determine proportion passengers that access at each level. implemented Wuhan metropolitan area four different scenarios illustrate applicability model. Then, sensitivity analysis performed assess impact changing key parameters results. results are compared those traditional models, findings demonstrate importance choice behavior allocation.
